Meet Etta, My New Spector Coda 5
It’s been so darn busy around here lately that I haven’t had time to tell you about the newest member of my music gear family. Regular readers may already know that, last year, I purchased a Spector Coda 4, specifically for my work with Ryan Pelton. Eddy, as I call him, has been a dream to work with – so much so, that I ordered another Coda. After several months of waiting, she’s finally here. Continue reading
Tour Break – September 19, 2011
Greetings, and welcome back to my little hideaway! I hope everyone has gotten a great start to their week. It’s just a touch after 6:30 as I begin to write this entry. DogNose when I’ll be done.
As I wrote last time, I’ve been on tour break since last Monday. I got home mid-evening so, to me, break sort of started on Tuesday. And boy what a day that was!
Days of Rain and More Rain
I’ve got to say that this break has begun with several serious sections of roller coaster. But before I get to that, I’ve got to write a few words about the end of the tour, because that was a bit of a coaster ride in and of itself. I mean, really… floods and Bones Malone in one week?
Seriously? Continue reading
The Rain Flowed For Days
Welcome back, all y’all! I hope that everyone, especially my Pennsylvania friends, are safe, warm and dry. I’ve got to admit, this latest bit of travel has been a challenge. We’re again in the path of a storm – this time Lee is its name, and to be honest, he’s a blow-hard! It’s OK, though: we’re all doing fine. We’re still here, and the rain seems to have passed… for now. Continue reading
You Mean It’s Over?!?!
Greetings once again, y’all! Today is the last day of my short tour break, and I want to bring everyone up to date before I hit the bus again. Continue reading
Tour Update – August 27, 2011
Hey, wouldja look at this? I’m back in just a few days since my last post! Don’t get used to it, though, as the rest of the summer is going to be just as busy as the first part has been. (smile) The reason I have time to post again so quickly is that we have just finished a week of recording, and have a few days before one final gig preceding a short break. We are again recording at Green Valley Recording with the Magic Man, Richard Rupert. Continue reading
The Cigar Guitar
Hey, all y’all! I’m back with another tour update. Actually, this post is about a really cool tobacco shop I visited in Milwaukee during our last visit. Uhle’s (pronounced Yoo-leez) is a family-owned shop that features a huge selection of fine cigars, premium cigarettes, pipes and pipe tobacco. They also have a very interesting collection of smoking memorabilia. Taken as a whole, that’s more than enough to pique my interest. But coolest of all was the guitar in the window. Continue reading
My 55th Birthday
Greetings once again, and welcome back! I know it’s been a while since I posted an update; I’ve been quite busy with Ryan, what with touring, recording a pair of CDs and working on a third, and a bunch of other stuff I can’t tell you about yet. But I did want to pop in and tell you about my Birthday. Continue reading
Tour Update – July 17, 2011
Welcome back, y’all, to the show that never ends. And, evidently, the show that’s always behind! (smile) We’ve been running at full speed for so long that it’s been impossible to stay on track with updates. But, in truth, that’s a good thing! So… let me bring you up to speed: Continue reading
Tour Update – June 26, 2011
Greetings, all y’all! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. I know I sure am!
I know it’s a been a good long while since I posted a tour update, but I have my reason: it’s been extremely busy lately. Ever since we got on the bus for Albuquerque, NM, I’ve been running at high speed, with very little down-time. Continue reading
