I Survived the First Rehearsal

Hey, all y’all! Just a quick note to let you know I arrived alive in Nashville yesterday. Glad I added a little time to my travel schedule, as I hit a dead stop a few miles short of Nashville. I sat there for almost a half hour before traffic started moving again. Thankfully, I still got to the rehearsal studio early.

Got all set up, and immediately fried the power section of my main amp. Salvation, thy name is “Spare Amp.” I’ve got to wait until tomorrow to see about getting it fixed, but even if I have to wait a bit, I’ve got a pair of spares, and my good friend Roy Vogt is lending me a bigger brute to use while mine is being fixed.

Rehearsal went very well, and we’re pretty much set for the Elvis tribute show. Today and tomorrow we rehearse 30 songs for the mixed show… lots of oldies, Country, Soul and such… all of it a lot of fun.

So… things continue to move along smoothly, and I’m looking forward to the first leg of the tour.

Oh! And if all goes well, I’ll have a brand new Spector Coda 4-string (yes, it’s black!) just in time to catch the bus on Tuesday. Stay tuned… this is going to be a blast!

Keep Thumpin’!
